Mehlika Orakçıoğlu has been working on a Research (PhD) thesis titled “Explicit and Implicit Symbolism in Turkish Design Identity – An Examination of “Abjad” Coding Systems in Textile.” She studied her undergraduate degree at Gazi University, Department of Applied Art & Design (1986-1990) and took Fashion Folio Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (1992-1993) in London.
She opened her own Fashion company (Visal) for women’s wear which is high quality fashion designs productions and wholesale to around the world. She works as a designer owning her business in Istanbul since 2003.
Orakçıoğlu taught at several different universities and published articles internationally as well as in Turkey.
