Founded in 1996, the Department of Management Sciences (formerly Business Administration) is one of the first departments of İstanbul Bilgi University. The Department offers business courses that focus on global and local issues, as well as the recent theoretical developments and practical applications in its field.
The internationally and nationally acknowledged and renowned Department differentiates itself with not only its education quality, but also with its high quality research output. The Department offers six undergraduate and seven graduate programs.
The undergraduate Business Administration program was founded in 1996. This was followed by the International Finance program in 1997, and the International Trade and Business program and the Business Informatics programs in 2004. In 2013 Marketing Undergraduate Program will be Turkey’s pioneer undergraduate program aiming to educate students with specialization in Marketing. In 2013, Double Degree Program in Business Administration with London School of Economics will be offered to promising and successful sophomore students of the Department.
As for the graduate programs, MBA was founded in 1998, International Finance in 2004, Accounting and Auditing in 2006, Banking and Finance in 2007 and Human Resource Management in 2008, respectively. In 2003, the PhD program in Business Administration specializing in Organization Studies and in 2012 PhD in Marketing started to admit PhD students. Additionally, MA in Marketing Graduate Program (in Turkish and English respectively) was offered in 2012, extending the post graduate spectrum of our department.
The Department of Management Sciences graduates are knowledgeable about recent business-related issues and real life problems; they are practice and research-oriented strong decision makers. Our students and graduates value ethics in business, and are knowledgeable about diverse value systems, responsible and honest leaders and team members.
The academic members of the Department of Management Sciences are young, dynamic, innovative, internationally experienced experts in their fields of study. They are distinguished researchers who contribute to the creation of academic knowledge that has significant theoretical and managerial implications both in Turkey and the international academic arena.
